It's almost time for the Jolly One to rappel down our chimneys (or nearest equivalent) and delivery the goodies, but before the Crispmoose festivities, there's an older holiday to celebrate: Solstice.
In honor of Solstice, and because Halloween is my favorite 'holiday', I've made a little filk song out of a popular carol...

( THE 12 GIFTS OF SOLSTICE... )

.

comments

It's their last night before parting ways and some liquor by the fire is lowering some inhibitions.
Author's Notes: A/N: I started this back in the summer of 2018 and re-read it in November of 2021, and just… finished it! I tried to keep the tone of the original, although I cleaned up the writing a bit—I’ve improved a little bit since then—but I also chose to keep to the wandering back and forth between POVs, though I tried not to shift in the middle of paragraphs. If it helps: Chepikimi is pronounced chep[like step]-ee-kee-mee and Imadjinaerie is pronounced almost exactly like ‘imaginary’. Hope those of you who’re into WoW and F/F might enjoy this little bit of Azerothian smuttery.

( Campfire Dance... )

comments

There was, to my mind, something eerie and ghost-like in the endless procession of faces which flitted across these narrow bars of light,--sad faces and glad, haggard and merry. Like all human kind, they flitted from the gloom into the light, and so back into the gloom once more." Feel free to interpret and use this prompt any way you like." — Watson's Woes Community on Dreamwidth.
Summary: There are dangerous mysteries on the streets of London when night falls.
Author's Notes: Firstly, I would like to apologize if this fic seems a little off; I had planned to try to write several of these Halloween prompts, but all this month (and some of the previous months) I have had no end of trouble with my computer, the Internet, the Dragon program, and my own annoying meat-suit. Consequently, it's amazing that I got any writing done at all, but what I have done feels awkward to me, no matter how many times I go over it. So, my dear readers, be kind to me and cut me a tiny inch or three of slack. I do hope some of you enjoy this, regardless. I thank you for your time and attention.

( Rising Darkness... )

.

comments

Consequently, I'm backdating this to the date I posted the last installment of it on LJ's SH Kink Meme. I don't see how I missed posting it on LiveJournal or how it could have escaped being transferred to Dreamwidth, but apparently I did — or it didn't, whatever it was — unless I deleted it for some reason that I don't remember now (?).
Original Author's Note: This was a weird one. I still find it peculiar, but got some good commentary, so thought I'd go ahead and share. I definitely posted this anonymously, at first, because of its unusuality. If it's not your cuppa, that's okay, but it was sure an experience to write. *chuckle* I have no excuse for this. I saw the prompt and started typing; this... whatever it is... squirted out of my fingertips. It's as cliched as a soap opera, I know, but somehow I couldn't stop myself. Treat it like a soap opera and don't expect it to make sense.

( Turn About Is Fair Play... )

.

comments

There's not a whole lot of magic in it, but the Muse was so insistent that I try to cross the streams (SH/AaOL) and I was having fun picturing a young Jonathan Brewster and his recently made Dr. Einstein encountering an older Sherlock Holmes and his trusty Dr. Watson. Since Jonathan has a lot more exploits to rack up before the events in the film, I couldn't let Holmes keep him, but I hope some of you will still enjoy this little crossover, dear readers.

( Mr. Holmes & Dr. Watson vs Mr. Brewster & Dr. Einstein )

.

comments

This is fluffy, cozy, and has no socially redeeming value other than to indulge my adoration of happy 'endings' and the idea of these folks retiring to that nearly legendary cottage on the Sussex Downs. I think you can read this well enough without having read the rest of the Threesome Parallel series, but it will certainly help. Either way, I hope some of you will enjoy it. Happy New Year, dear readers.

( New Year's Eve In Sussex )

.

comments

I really liked the idea for this, whether or not I executed it well is up to you, my dear readers, but I hated not to post it. So, hope some of you enjoy. BTW = This particular Dr. Hooper and Dr. Watson are based on the Beeblock episode “The Abominable Bride” in which Dr. Hooper was apparently a woman presenting as a man—seemingly fooling everyone except Watson, including Holmes.

( Learning More About The Doctor... )

.

comments

I had no expectation of doing them all, of course, given how my limitations are these days, but I'd hoped to do more than this. Meh, that's the way the ficcery falls out, I s'pose. Anyway, here's a little slice of life fic that I've managed to smish down to 500 words, or a quintuple drabble! Wee! Hope some of you like it. :)

( Doctoring The Detective... )

.

comments

Also, I think it will be pretty obvious which book I'm referencing in this one (or which book from another series of books, depending on how you look at it). Secondly, it's not as much in the style of Shakespeare as it ought to be. And, thirdly, it made me chuckle to myself as I wrote, so I'm kind of hoping it will pass on the strength of its silliness, rather than adhering to the prompt completely.

( Mangled Shakespeare And Complementary Silliness... )

.

comments
